ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: So this is the ending you wanted, right? You lot always wanted Dexter to dice?
CLYDE PHILLIPS: If y'all're referring to what I had said previously nearly the stop of season eight, aye (Phillips had wanted to kill Dexter off once the serial concluded on Showtime simply he left later on flavor 4). The intent was to tell a consummate story. It's no surreptitious that the 8th season was very unpopular and dissatisfying to the fans. I wanted the audience to feel as if we had completed the story. I guess I was striving for redemption, not in whatsoever religious sense. I just wanted to redeem the testify for the audience and ship it off with something that we're proud of instead of something that we'd take to make excuses for.
